The poem "Light and Only Light (I am goddess!)," my freedom-to-be-me-empowered-woman-identity poem, is not included on the CD The Goddess and The Skylark, Dancing Through the Word Labyrinth; however, it is one of the poems that contributed to the poet Aberjhani's early impressions of me. It's also a poem used by college students for poetry readings and posted by women in forums to declare strength. I'm proud of this poem for that reason.
You can get an idea of Aberjhani's impressions of me or what I may have inspired in him if you read his poem "The Golden Art of Dreaming Naked." The poem is posted with his vignette "The Story of Nordette Adams' Un-Posted Birthday Poem," written after the passing of his mother, WillieMae Griffin Lloyd of Savannah, Ga. "The Golden Art of Dreaming Naked" is included also in his new book, Visions of a Skylark Dressed in Black. You may download a free sample of the book at its link.
Some of the reviews for this poem, Saturday, March 12, 2005. From Aberjhani: These lines burn with soulful wonders to behold as if each was tongue-lifted straight from the mouth of an exploding star. But then they did come from the pen of an exceptionally gifted poet and that is something very much like a star exploding kaleidoscopic rays of joy and sorrow and undiluted Self. Wonderful to behold indeed.
